Take the D463, a gravel road to the turn off to Fish River Lodge.
There are signs along the way and this section will take about 2 hours.
The access road to the lodge just off the D463 is an adventurous19km path through river beds and across open plains edged with mountains,
The road is best traversed using vehicles with high clearance or 4 x 4. We recommend that you drive this section slowly and carefully.
After 5km on this track you will pass two farm houses; follow the small signs to the lodge which is a further 14km.
Please do not take the C12 towards the Fish River Canyon as you will end up on the eastern side of the canyon.
There are no roads across the canyon to Fish River Lodge.
Please leave plenty of time for your journey so you can enjoy the drive and arrive in daylight.

You are advised to keep your vehicle topped up with fuel whenever you have the opportunity.

Take the D463 from the C13.
It feels like it will last forever, but please keep going until you get to the Canyon Nature Park and Fish River Lodge signs.
